Authentic Teochew Cuisine at Paradise Teochew Restaurant

Introducing the newest kid in Singapore, Paradise Group is opening an all-new restaurant concept - Paradise Teochew Restaurant, at Chinese Swimming Club. Along with this new concept, Paradise Group aims to extend deeper into its roots of being the experts in Chinese cuisine.
Extensive menu of authentic Teochew style signatures
Teochew cuisine is famed for its deft handling of seafood and poultry, particularly in bringing out the natural taste of the ingredients. It is also known for being light-handed on seasonings, with minimal use of oil. Focusing on the freshness and quality of the ingredients to bring out the flavours of dishes, Teochew cuisine is a celebrated source of healthy and light dishes. 
Helmed by Executive Chef Cheng Fa Kwan with 34 years of culinary experience and his talented team of culinary experts, diners can expect to savour the culture and essence of classic Teochew cuisine in the comfort of Paradise Teochew Restaurant.
Let's start with the appetiser.

For appetiser, try the Teochew Four Varieties Combination that consist of Teochew Pork Roll, Teochew Prawn Ball, Braised Sliced Duck and Pan-fried Scallop with Minced Garlic ($10 per person, minimum 3 persons). 

For soup wise, the Teochew Style Braised Shark's Fin in Casserole ($42 per person) is a flavourful thick broth with a generous serving of shark's fin. 


Seafood: The Sauteed Pomfret Fillet with tomato and Salted Vegetables ($28 for small serving) is definitely a must-order. With clever use of simple ingredients like salted vegetables and tomato to bring out the natural sweetness of the fish, this dish is a strong representation of Teochew cuisine.


Meat and poultries: One of the first few dishes that Chef Cheng learnt in his younger days is the Steamed Diced Chicken wrapped in Egg White Crepe ($18 for small serving). This dish requires much patience and skill to prepare the thin-layer egg white crepe, with a perfect savoury mix of chopped chicken bits, Chicken ham, diced water chestnut and bamboo shoots. 




Rice and noodles:
Diners familiar with Teochew dare will also be able to identify one of the most recognisable main stable of this cuisine - Crispy Sweet and Sour Noodle in Teochew Style ($14 for small serving). Said to be found only in Hong Kong. This dish is pretty unique as it's pretty sweet and sour at the same time. I think it's pretty good because I love to eat vinegar, but not jealous! Dip it with sugar and you shall taste heaven and Earth.


Vegetable: Braising is one of the popular methods of cooking in Teochew cuisine, and the braised Mustard Green with Shredded Conpoy and Dried Shrimps $18 for small serving) is one of the vegetable dishes prepared with this method. For the young and old alike, this fragrant and healthy dish is surely ideal for a balanced meal.


One may find the all-time favourite Mashed Yam with Gingko ($4.50 per person) available; otherwise have a go at the chef's re-creation - Crispy Pumpkin, Yam and Sweet Potato Strips ($12 per serving) if you're feeling adventurous.
