Concorde Hotel Reveal Its New Menu

Located in the middle of Dhoby Ghaut and Somerset MRT station and just a 2 minutes walk to Istana, few minutes away from tourist attractions like Boat Quay, The Esplanade and Chinatown.

Concorde Hotel Singapore launched its new menu effectively from 1st October onwards.

With a wide selection for hotel guests to choose from, they can order their meals directly from Spices Cafe and it'll be delivered to their personal hotel room and get to enjoy their meals privately.

Let me guide you through with their newest menu. Starting from appetizers.

PAN-FRIED GOOSE LIVER ON MANTOU

Accompanied with crisp lettuce and sweet lychee sauce,  their pan-fried goose liver are seriously delectable and tender.

SAUTEED ESCARGOT

Served on breaded whole portabella mushroom, topped off with raspberry vinaigrette. I'm a big fan of mushroom and one thing I noticed was that they didn't use much flour on their breaded mushroom. Crispy and their mushroom was humongous. Talking about escargot, drenched in garlic bits, it's a perfect combination of sweet and salty. They remind me of butter garlic mushrooms.

Soups are the best thing on earth. Let's start with the soups shall we?

LOBSTER BISQUE WITH BRANDY AND CREAM

Thick cream-based soup served with lobster meat & croutons. You can feel every single piece of lobster meat inside the soup. The wonderful rich flavor and I must say, this is pretty new and luxurious to me. Appetizing and comfort bowl of hot Lobster Brisque.

TOM YAM KUNG

Sawadeekrup! I'm sure everyone is a big fan of Tom Yum Soup. Comes with 4 big prawns, Thai herbs & straw mushroom. The aftertaste was a little bit sweet. Perhaps hotel guests from Thailand can order this bowl of flavorsome Tom Yam Kung to make them feel home?

TIME FOR THE MAIN COURSE.

GRILLED AUSTRALIAN LAMB RACK WITH SWEET MINT

The lamb rack was a little bit dry, but it goes well with the sweet mint. You can really taste the mint as it gives off a refreshing feeling in every bite you take. Accompanied with grilled polenta and seasonal vegetables.

GRILLED PORTERHOUSE STEAK

I usually take my steaks medium rare, but even though it's well done for the porterhouse steak, but it feels like I'm taking the medium rare instead. Juicy and tender. The steak is perfectly well done. Not harsh nor dry. Full-bodied if there's a glass of wine for you to go with.

GRILLED KUROBUTO PORK CHOP

While looking at the name of this hearty plate of pork chop, I can feel that the name is pretty special because it's Japanese. Yes, they served with shiitake mushroom, gratin potato, seasonal vegetables and grated apple sauce to keep it a balance. Research shows that grated apple sauce helps you to digest if you take a lot of oily food. The pork chop was heavenly and this might be the best pork chop I've ever eaten in my entire life.

LOBSTER THERMIDOR

A full-sized lobster accompanied with butter rice. The lobster was baked with hollandaise sauce. Usually, hollandaise sauce is usually found in eggs benedict instead. A rich and creamy sauce that is made out of butter, vinegar and egg yolks. It's pretty creative that the chef used hollandaise sauce while baking the lobster. I guess it is to reek off the fishy smell as it's pretty common. I guess vinegar helps in the process while baking!

PHAT KAPHRAO MOO SAB

SAWADEEKRUP again! We're back in Thailand! Just kidding. Introducing Stir-Fried minced pork with Thai basil served with fragrant jasmine rice and topped with fried egg. Look at that wobbly and succulent egg yolk. Their minced pork are pretty spicy as you can see, there's chopped chilli padi. A typical meal if you want to go to Thailand!

BBQ SEAFOOD PLATTER

This enormous platter of BBQ Seafood is simply mouthwatering. Consist of half lobster, scallop prawn, mussel, fish & butter rice served with Japanese garlic with mayo or black pepper sauce. If you're a big fan of seafood platters, lobster, prawns or fish, this platter might be suitable for you. The serving is pretty generous.

Desserts are our happy pills. Time for some awesome desserts.

BERRIES BERRIES

Two scoops of vanilla ice cream with fresh cream and topped with multiple of fresh blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.  A good dessert to beat the hot and hazy weather!

CREME BRULEE

Creme Brulee, also known as burnt cream consist of a rich custard base topped with caramelized sugar & fresh berries. I really love the caramelized sugar as it gives off the sweet taste. A dulcet dessert for all dessert lovers. Definitely not to miss this when you're ordering desserts from your room at Concorde Hotel!
